ODRAZ SLNKA NA JAZERE S LEKNAMI
Though its title evokes a natural scene, Sun Reflection in Lily Pond transcends realistic interpretation. The work can be read as Kamenický’s reflection on Monet’s Water Lilies — as if his painting were immersed within Monet’s chromatic universe. In the upper right corner, a flicker of Monet’s bluish ponds appears, but Kamenický transforms it into his own image of light and motion. Raw brushstrokes and layered paint create a sense of reflection where reality and painterly vision merge. Dynamic gestures and subtle tonal transitions evoke light filtering through water’s depth — without the need for literal description. By abandoning descriptiveness, Kamenický gives precedence to association over depiction. The theme of reflection becomes metaphorical — a reflection of inner light, a quiet dialogue between what is revealed and what remains unseen.
